I have a question about the perfection topside paint.
My question is the necessity of the primer.
I have aluminium window frames in my salon, they have been glass beaded to bare matal then they were chromate convereted to stop further corrsion. The metal shop says no primer need just have them painted or powder coated.
I like to the look and ease off application of the perfection. Any thoughts?
thanks
Wayne

Hi Wayne,
The purpose of primers are to enhance adhesion and appearance of all coatings. Perfection contains very aggressive solvents and should only be applied over suitable surfaces. Since the surface has already been coated with a chromate primer would you happen to know if it would be a one or two component product? Also does this chromate primer have a maximum overcoating window (just about all of them do)? How long has this chromate primer been on the surface? Any additional information would certainly help to determine which steps you will need to follow to ensure the Perfection gives you the appearance which you are looking for.
