Has anyone ever mixed Brightside to create a seafoam green-ish type color? Painting my 38' Egg Harbor hull and trying to find someone with the magic potion for what I am looking to do.

Thanks!
Wink

You can mix Brightside with Brightside to achieve different colors, but we do not have a reference chart that says what to mix to achieve different colors.  Sorry, I hope this helped.

Hello,
In the Late 1970's I had a Lightning painted w/Inetrlux Sea Foam Green.  I recently bought the boat back and have been restoring it.  I found the mixing  1 quart of Ocean Blue, 1/2 Quart of Sea Green and 1/4 Quart of White produced a good match to some photos I had of the boat from back then.

Good Luck !
Scott

Thanks for your response Scott. Any chance you have a pic of the color?

Hi - It doesn't look like they have enabled the ability to upload images on the forum.  If you can find a way to send me an email directly I'd be happy to send you a few photos.  I think there is a way to create a private reply that you can include an email address in, but I can't seem to find it right now.

Yes Scott got them and they are beautiful! Perfect color and I must say, awesome job with laying the paint down! Did you spray or roll and tip?

Glad to hear the color looked right.  I've been spraying the paint, and to be honest I'm still not quite happy with the result.  I've been using the 216 thinner for spraying and I've been having difficulty w/the amount of orange peel. Tough to see in the pics ! I recently tried a test panel using the 333 thinner for brushing which evaporates more slowly, and that seems to give the paint a chance to level out a bit more.   I've also switched to a smaller sipon cup type detail spray gun, which my compressor can keep up with easier.  Fortunately the boat is small and easy to sand and re-paint !  I have heard that folks have gotten great results rolling and tipping off immediately as well.  There's a good video on their web site.  Recommends one person to roll and one following behind to tip immediately.

Good luck !

Yeah a few years back my wife and I painted the hull on our Thompson 290 with brightside doing the roll and tip and it came out really nice. That's what we are planning on doing on our Egg Harbor 38 we now sport. It's a very intimidating hull though. LoL
