I have VCR performance epoxy on the bottom of my powerboat. I previously planned not to keep the boat in the salt water but a spot came up and I'm taking it. Question is can I paint over the vc performance epoxy with any type of anti fouling paint? I'd rather not spend a ton of time removing that paint given how at it is.

Luckily you can apply any of our antifouling paints overtop of VC Performance Epoxy with no issues at all. Just be sure to proceed with the following prep, prior to doing so: 1. Wipe the surface clean with 202 or 216 2. Thoroughly sand the VC Performance Epoxy with 80 grit paper to achieve a matte finish and to provide a uniform sand scratch in the surface 3. Remove all sanding residue with 202 or 216 4. Apply 2-3 coats of your desired antifouling paint |

jay, I have a similar question about painting over vc performance. I want to paint my bottom with vc then topside with perfection. should I paint a little higher over the waterline with vc performance then prep for topside after taping, thus sanding the vc overlap? thanks
Jack

Hi Jack,
Sorry for the delay, but yes I would bring the VC Performance Epoxy up a bit higher, then sand with a 120-180-220 prior to wiping the surface clean and applying Perfection.
