Guys,

What is the deal with AwlCare? I have been detailing for years and this stuff is horrible. I now have 4 bottles and still it leaves a "splotchy/blotchy" finish. The boat is painted with AwlCraft 2000 and is a PRISTINE finish with clear ruler readings out to 20+ inches at a 90 degree reflection..

All the old AwlCare was removed, per AwlGrip tech support, with Naptha, and yet I apply it PER INSTRUCTIONS and wipe it off and I get a splotchy finish that looks terrible and worse than before applying AwlCare..

I am using the softest cotton detailing rags that can be found, hand applied/removed and applying with a cotton applicator yet even after four bottles it comes off, or doesn't, and leaves the hull looking worse then when I started. Collinite #885 carnuba applies & removes easier than this stuff but of course is verboten with AwlGrip products..

Awlgrip tech support had me buy new bottles, $$$$$$, thinking it was just bad product but I am beginning to believe that is just how this product works. I purchased my bottles all from different stock.

Now that you have my $$$$, 4 bottles worth, can you PLEASE suggest another polymer sealant that WILL NOT leave a splotch looking mess on this pristine hull....?

This is a VERY, VERY picky customer who has won numerous Concourse DeElegance shows with his collection of antique 356 Porsche speedsters. He expects his Awlcraft 2000 to look the same, and it does, BEFORE I apply AwlCare.. I can get the finish to concourse quality with other products but it is proving to be an impossibility with AwlCare. I want/need a suggestion for a product that will not harm the finish and is "approved" by Akzo/AwlGrip other than AwlCare. I know, doesn't exist....Ouch

PLEASE HELP this is getting really, really old and my customer is getting pretty frustrated and wants me to try another product....   He's seen the before AwlCare, and after, and thinks it is ridiculous.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

CMS

Sorry but I am only familiar with Interlux products and am unable to give any recommendations for Awlgrip products.  Your best source for Awlgrip information is to call 888-355-3090.
