I have a racing sailboat that is occasionally trailered and may spend several weeks at a time out of the water. The majority of it's time is spent in a fresh water inland lake. Would you recommend VC17 for this boat (that's what is on it now) and if not, what bottom paint would you recommend.

Sure, VC17 would be just fine for you to apply to your racing sailboat. It's a hard paint film and a thin coating therefore you will have less weight on the bottom. Just don't forget that the paint will not change to it's true color until the boat is put into the water and left for several weeks. Therefore if you plan to paint the boat, but leave it on the trailer for a while it will not change colors and will remain that color until it were immersed. Hope this helps. |
